Maybole Charity Shop

Located centrally on the High Street within the outstanding conservation area of Maybole in South Ayrshire, Maybole Charity Shop has been operating at the heart of the community for over 20 years. It is run as a not-for-profit constituted organisation by members of the local community, and is allocated to local organisations & charities on a weekly basis whose volunteers take on the running of the shop and raise money during that period for their organisation. It has also been used a placement center for people who require training & experience in a working environment and in dealing with customers.

The refurbishment of the Charity Shop formed part of the wider Maybole Town Center Regeneration Project, funded in part by Historic Environment Scotland and the Historic Lottery Fund. The project aims to address a number of critical fabric repairs and modernise of the property to enable improved access, reduce running costs, become easier to operate and ultimately provide a secure basis on which to consider a community buy-out of the property from the current owner.
